Evening we will take you to a small group Northern light hunt tour.
Guided by our expert, we’ll journey to the optimal locations where the Northern Lights are most likely to grace the sky on that particular day. Whether the sky is clearer to the north or south of town, our minivan allows us the flexibility to travel greater distances in search of clear skies, even on cloudy days.
Once we reach the ideal spot, you’ll have the opportunity to capture breathtaking photos and take a short stroll under the enchanting polar sky, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.
While we’ll be traveling in a warm vehicle for most of the tour, we recommend dressing warmly for outdoor excursions. Please note that winter gear such as overalls and mittens are not included, but we’ll ensure you’re comfortable throughout the journey.
Journey of discovery as we kick off our tour with a convenient hotel pick-up, setting the stage for an adventure-packed day ahead. As we traverse the picturesque landscapes of Lapland, we’ll have breaks along the way to capture breathtaking photos of the region’s natural beauty, immersing ourselves in the serenity of the surroundings.
Arriving at our destination, we’ll prepare for an unforgettable excursion. Our first stop entails a scenic 2.5-kilometer hike to the summit of Lampivaara hill, a trek lasting approximately 30-40 minutes. Atop this majestic hill lies one of the world’s most exclusive mines, a rarity open to visitors – a true gem, quite literally.
Located near the Luosto recreation center and surrounded by the beauty of the National Park, this is your chance to dig for your own Lampivaara amethyst – a treasure to cherish. Listen to fascinating stories about the gem’s legends, Lapland’s history, and the region’s geology from our expert guide.
Today we will take you a journey to meet huskies in their farm. Summer and fall is the time they prepare for winter season. You will learn about huskies, their life in the farm and see the connection of owners and huskies yourself.
Huskies are not born fit, it takes lots of preparation and conditioning before the dogs are as fit as they can be. Visit the kennel and get a feel for how the dogs are prepared to be the amazing athletes they are. Our enthusiastic dogs will happily take you down the forest trail for an unforgettable experience.
NOTE! For animal welfare reasons this tour is offered only weather permitting, 10 degrees celcius or colder, otherwise it’s too hot for the huskies to pull.
Afternoon is easy and free. If our guest like, they can visit Arktikum museum which is located only a short walk to their hotel. Also local saunas are available for personal visit. We are more than happy to share details about them.

This excursion takes you to the Aurora Borealis camp located away from the city lights with an unlimited view at the northern sky. At the camp we have camp fire to keep you warm and you can just lay back by an open fire admiring the northern sky.
And don’t forget to fry and enjoy the traditional sausages and marshmallows by the open fire in the Kota teepee! With a little luck, the sky is clear and the moon, stars, and even the Northern Lights may show up.
Lights like to play hide and seek so be patient!
