We will begin our day with an engaging introduction to the local culture and history, taking a scenic drive along the picturesque harbor front towards the city center. The Danish people take immense pride in their royal heritage and the traditions that seamlessly blend into their contemporary lifestyle. Our first stop will be Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish Royal Family. Nearby, we’ll also visit the iconic Little Mermaid statue, a beloved local symbol for over a century.

Next, we’ll explore some of Copenhagen’s most celebrated attractions, starting with the vibrant Tivoli Gardens, located adjacent to Town Hall Square in the heart of the city. Surrounded by an array of inviting pedestrian streets and charming hidden alleyways, we’ll make our way to Christiansborg Palace. This unique building houses all three branches of Denmark’s government: the Parliament, Prime Minister’s Office, and Supreme Court.

Conveniently situated on a small islet just off the main street, Christiansborg Palace also offers a more personal experience. We’ll walk the same halls and stairs as the Queen’s guests in the Royal Reception Rooms. The Great Hall, with its noble yet welcoming atmosphere, showcases the Queen’s Tapestries. This series, which took over a decade to complete in Paris, narrates the history of the world’s oldest monarchy from the Viking era through the Middle Ages and into the future.

After leaving the grand palace complex, we’ll immerse ourselves in the lively ambiance of the old town once again. Our journey continues to the open public square of Kongens Nytorv, which leads to the Royal Danish Theatre. This entertainment district, built around the 17th-century canals of Nyhavn (also known as “The New Harbor”), is now a vibrant area featuring numerous cafés and the charming sight of historic boats lining the canal. Once a bustling gateway filled with sailors, Nyhavn has transformed into a heritage harbor cherished by both locals and visitors.

Your guide will also ensure some free time for a delightful coffee break, providing you with a memorable experience of Copenhagen before we return to the cruise harbor or your hotel.
